Former Minister V. Somanna Eyes Tumakuru Lok Sabha Seat, Decision in Party’s Hands
NEW DELHI: The decision on whether to contest from the Tumakuru Lok Sabha constituency will be made by the party high command, stated former minister V. Somanna.
Addressing reporters in New Delhi, Somanna emphasized the strong friendship he shares with the current Tumakuru MP, GS Basavaraj, who expressed a desire for Somanna to be the contender for Tumakuru.
He is actively working towards securing a BJP ticket to contest the Lok Sabha election from Tumakuru. The final decision rests with the party high command. He also said that he is fully prepared to abide by the party’s choice.
He clarified that his visit to the national capital is for personal matters, and he intends to meet BJP National President J.P. Nadda and Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Mines, and Coal, Pralhad Joshi, provided he secures an appointment.
Even if he fails to secure a ticket, Somanna affirmed his commitment to contribute to the party’s efforts, ensuring the success of Narendra Modi for a consecutive term as the Prime Minister.
